A world-percussionist with world-class talent: Satnam's remarkable history includes being a 1993 graduate of Hollywood's Percussion Institute of Technology, studies in Tabla, Indian Musics and Rhythm at the Ali Akbar Khan College of Music (San Rafael 1994), and private instruction from some of the world's top teachers. He has performed (worldwide) with Steve Vai, Brand X, Jimmy Mahlis, and Ustad Salamat Ali Khan, the world-renowned Indian Classical singer, among others. As a session musician, Satnam has recorded with Juan Baglietto, Scott Kinsey, and Haddaway...among others. In addition to playing a slamming drum kit, Satnam also provides Tabla and Drum instruction, and makes an awesome racket with his astounding "beat box" vocal rhythms, as heard on Zappa guitarist Mike Keneally's latest release, "Boil That Dust Spec." Recent projects include a tour with Atlantic Recording artists Boxing Ghandis, recordings with Kevin Gilbert, and Greg Weiss, and an upcoming label debut from Crackpot.
Satnam endorses Remo drum heads, and Calato/Regal Tip drumsticks.
